A rigorous solution is obtained for the nonlinear spin relaxation process in the case of J=3⁄2. The classical versus quantum mechanical nature of the relaxation process is examined by changing the magnitude of spin, J: A simple rule is found for an asymptotic behaviour with increasing J. The combined effects of quantum mechanics and nonlinearity appear at low temperature and/or high magnetic field.
