Neutron diffraction experiments have been carried out to study the effects of pressure on the antiferromagnetism in Pr2CuO4−y. The intensity of magnetic scattering is sensitively affected by pressure. This result is interpreted as the changes in the spin orientations induced under high pressure. In contrast, the three-dimensional (3D) ordering temperature TN is little dependent on pressure. The absence of the pressure effect on TN indicates a marked contrast to the large effect on TN in La2CuO4−y.
