Abstract

It has been reported that nonlinear waves called solitons can be observed on a nonlinear LC ladder circuit using nonlinear capacitors and linear inductors. The authors have previously proposed an inductor whose inductance varies exponentially by utilizing the magnetic saturation phenomenon of the iron core and the permanent magnet flux. We named it the permanent magnet flux biased (PMFB) inductor. Numerical calculations have shown that magnetic solitons can exist even in a nonlinear LC ladder circuit with PMFB inductors and linear capacitors. In this paper, we fabricate a nonlinear LC ladder circuit using some prototype PMFB inductors and linear capacitors. Then, we measure the excitation of magnetic solitons on the nonlinear LC ladder circuit. Furthermore, we confirm that the measurement results are consistent with the simulation results.
