Abstract
An experimental and numerical study has been conducted to develop a lightweight vehicle equipped with a hybrid fuel cell system and a Ni-MH battery unit. A numerical simulation model has been developed to predict the vehicle performance and efficiency based on characteristics of major components as well as on chassis dynamometer measurements. It has been confirmed that the simulation model can determine fuel cell operating conditions and battery energy flow to maximize the vehicle efficiency.
