Development of the Image Recognition Technology Designed to Quantification of Visual Inspection

Abstract

Recently, image processing has increased its presence as a key technology to simplify the production process and to evaluate the product quality. However, conventional methods were not capable of inspecting parts that have complex structures and various types of defect. This research studied "how does a trained inspector find defects?", and developed a new image recognition technique by utilizing the detection process that is performed during the visual inspection.
