We have developed the QGIS plugin to find an optimal path to support the on-demand trafficservices in Sanyo-Onoda city. Since the plugin can be helpful in assisting in running the service, there is arequest to apply the function for planning a new service area. When they plan a new service area, it isrequired to find an optimal path that could be the longest with registered addresses. The plugin we havedeveloped can find an optimal path, but it does not have a function to do combinational optimization. If they try to find the longest path with the previous plugins, they need to test each combination one by one, which occurs combinational explosion. Therefore, in this research, we had preliminary consideration about a combinational optimization algorithm for assisting in planning a new service area and prototyped the QGIS plugin based on the algorithm.
