抄録

The author measured the cultivating resistance of a pointed tine (Fig. 1) of rotary tiller by the test apparatus mentioned in previously. The results were obtained as follows:
(1) In generally, the vertical component of cultivating resistance is larger than the horizontal component,
(2) The cultivating resistance in which the vertical component is maximum is the largest of the other.
(2) The maximum resistance increases with the increasing cultivating depth and pitch (Fig. 2)
(4) The maximum cultivating resistance acts downward, because of the shape of tine and the plasticity of soil.
(5) The cultivating resistance reaches to maximum when the tine soon enters in the soil in small depth, but in large depth, reaches to maximum when the tine more revolves in soil (Fig. 4).
(6) The specific resistance is minimum at the depth 10-12cm, and decreases with the increa-sing pitch (Fig. 6).
