Abstract
Volatile matter and fixed carbon tend to burn concurrently during direct combustion of rice hull.
In this report, some properties of direct combustion, maximum temperature and so forth, were obtained under various air flow conditions. The thin layer experiments were conducted in order to supply the rice hull part with sufficient oxygen.
The results obtained from the experiments were compared to those of husk charcoal combustion which had been reported and to those of DSC analysis, and the authors could obtain some conceptions as to mechanism of direct combustion.
