To minimize quality change for the long period storage of grain, low temperature storage in a grain warehouse is widely used.
When grain is stored in a silo, it is possible to store more gsain than in a warehouse and to convey grain antomatically. But the uniform cooling Technique in a grain silo has not been established and low temperature storage in a grain silo has not practically used.
This paper presents the experimental results for a piece of equipment called the “complex type inlet-cover”, which can cool the grain bed uniformly.
There is a linear relationship between the cooling speed of grain and the superficial air velocity through the grain bed.
The required time of grain cooling is estimated using this linear relationship.
