From a viewpoint of improvement of the working environment around the tractor operator, one method that the operator is able to obtain the visual information on the rear of tractor while the operator keeps looking forward, was discussed in this study. In this method two mirrors, i. e. a large upper mirror and a small front one were used.
In part 1, the relationship between the indirect visual range on the rear of tractor and the size, the location and the installed angle of mirrors were analyzed in case of the plane mirror. The results of field test were also reported, which were carried out by comparing the two-mirror method with the conventional method.
In part 2, the two-mirror method using the convex mirror will be discussed. In part 3, the actual visual range and the distortion of image on the mirror in case of two-mirror method will be discussed in comparison with the rear view mirror on the tractor.
