Studies on the Development of a Combine for Multi-Crops (Part 1)

Fundamental Studies and Trial Manufacture of Combine

Abstract

Studies were conducted to develop a combine for multi-crops, which equipps with screw type threshing and separating mechanisms, and is adaptable not only for paddy but also for upland crops such as wheat, barley, soybean, buckwheat, etc. As the results of transferring this technology to manufacturers concerned, combines for multi-crops were put into practical use and are widely used in paddy and upland farming fields. The whole process of these studies will be mentioned by the series of 4 reports. In this paper, fundamental studies on threshing and separating mechanisms and on a introducing drum attached to the threshing cylinder are discussed. The structure and function of prototype combine made as trial are also reported.
