Late failure of preserved human umbilical vein graft

Abstract

Among seventy two arterial reconstruction using Biograft^R 3 late failures developed from 30 months to 5 years postoperatively. Reoperation of all three showed severe pannus hyperplasia at the anastomotic sites. In microscopic examination of the Biograft specimens, the layers were compressed, but the basic architecture remained intact.
