Abstract
We have been making the experiments about implantable artificial kidney; and deviced a system that filtration and reabsorption function of kidney is carried out by hemofilter and alimentary tract.
This time, we could control the increace of uremic toxins using adsorbents jointly. Filtrate from the polysulfon or polyacrylonitryl hemofilter and adsorbents (Zirconium phosphate, Activated charcoal and Zilconium hydroxide) were injected to the duodenum catheter. Consequently, BUN and serum creatinine were controled less than 100mg/dl and 4mg/dl. Readsorption of water was satisfactoly, thus diarrhea was once in a day. This method is expected the triple effect, i. e. adsorption of uremic toxins in digestive fluids, hemoperfusion through the intestines mucosa, and purificarion of filtrate.
