Abstract

Changes in free plasma hemoglobin during extracorporeal circulation was investigated on 152 cases who had undergone cardiopulmonary bypass in these seven years. It was demonstrated that there was no decrease in free plasma hemoglobin in these three years in comparison with that in the earlier four years. Some kind of perfusion techniques such as operative. field suction under low pressure should be used to prevent hemolysis.
