Abstract
The microporous polypropylene hollow fiber oxygenator (pore size 650Å) was used for monitoring blood gas (PO2, PCO2). The original gas channel was perfused with blood and monitor gas (air) was circulated in the closed circuit which connects inflow and outflow port of the fiber channel. The hydrophioized oxygenator and the microporous cellulose hollow fiber dialyzer(pore size 30Å) were used for monitoring pH in which monitor solution (saline) was circulated in stead of gas. PO2, PCO2 and pH measured with non-blood contact method showed close value to those of the blood.
