Artificial pancreas--Analog PD-control type closed-loop artificial β-cell --

Abstract

It is well known that PD-control system is useful for artificial β-cell. We tried to construct an analog PD-control system using OP Amps and C-MOS ICs. It consumes 8mW at ± 6.6V. Although a slight offset drift of sample-hold circuits was observed at mode exchange, the PD system was helpful to reduce the insulin infusion rate at decreasing periode of BGL in vitro test and animal experiments.
