Abstract
The segmented polyester (SPE) based on a polyoxytetramethylene soft segment and a poly (tetramethylene terephthalate) hard segment was implanted subcutaneously in rats for up to 28 months. Tissue response and material change was compared with poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET). No significant difference between SPE and PET was observed in tissue response and tumorigenicity, and tensile property change of SPE was minimal.
