Abstract
As the materials for reconstruction of the tissue defects, we prepared the composite meshs of bovine collagen and synthetic polymers such as thin silicon mesh, polypropylene mesh (marlex mesh), polyethylene mesh (heavy Marlex mesh), and high density polyethylene mesh, and applied experimentally to reconstruction of chest walls, diaphragma or pericardium of dogs.
In any case, the composite mesh was quickly organized and covered with thin epitherial layers, and finally was less adhesive to the neighbor organs.
In the chest wall reconstruction, we could succeed in replacement of over 9 ribs with the head composite mesh.
