An adaptive control system of blood glucose regulation for serious diabetics is presented. In order to perform the control, an algorithm is investigated. Animal experiments have been carried out to ensure its validity.
This system is characterized by the model following control so that the blood glucose may decrease in accordance with the desired profile specified by a medical doctor. This technique of control permits a simple operation and a higher security in blood glucose reguration. It is also useful to determine a more suitable profile of insulin infusion.
