A new micropower insulin infusion pump for artificial β cell has been developed.
16 μl of insulin was infused by one pulsing operation per 5 minutes and it was possible that 5 ml of insulin was infused for a day. The pump was able to go on working for 300 hrs by using five batteries of AA type.
The pump was used on the experimental animals and good results were obtained. So the pump will be useful for our purpose.
The pump has been functioning very much well. It will be fully utilized for the artificial pancreas of the closed loop type by the further improvement.
