Abstract
(1) In the cross between “Momiji-Aoi” and “Kusa-Fuyo”, the characteristics of F1 hybrids between H. coccineus and H. Moscheutos obtained from Osaka were extremely different from those of F1 hybrids between H. coccinea and H. moschata obtained from France about twenty five years ago. Accordingly experiments were to examine whether or not H. coccineus and H. coccinea or H. Moscheutos and H. moschata are identical species and also to determine the characteristics of F1 hybrids and their causes.
