Abstract
Sediment quality changes in reservoir influence lower reaches river water quality. Therefore, in this study experimental study of water and sediment quality changes was done for 388~450 days using water and sediment in two reservoirs. On the condition that the oxygen in water was saturated, organic materials in the sediments were decrease. These results show that the organic matters in the sediments were dissolved and removed in the porewater. Nitrate nitrogen in the porewater and total iron in the upper water were decrease. On the condition that the oxygen in water was insaturated, inorganic phosphorus and total iron were decrease and total iron in the water was increase. Therefore, on the condition that the oxygen in water was saturated, the reduction by nitrogen proceeds, and on the condition that the oxygen in water was insaturated, the concentration of iron in the upper water was high value and the reduction by iron proceeds in the term of two months. Characteristic of anaerobic reservoir sediment condition change was similar to paddy field and lake.
