A DATA ANALYSIS OF BIDDING PRICES IN THE PROVINCIAL SUSTAINABLE MAINTENANCE CONTRACTING: FOCUSING ON MIE AND GIFU PREFECTURES

Abstract

 Recently a new infrastructure maintenance contracting method which is called the provincial sustainable maintenance contracting was established because of the lack of operators of infrastructure maintenance. The contracting is characterized by the following: the public sector makes a comprehensive maintenance contract with a joint venture of the provincial construction firms.

 This study analyzed the contract prices in the provincial sustainable maintenance contracting in Mie and Gifu Prefectures with the multiple and panel regression in order to reveal whether the efficiency of the operations improved through the contracting. As a result, no effect of decreasing the contract prices was observed in either of two prefectures.
