EVALUATION OF BUISINESS CAPABILITY OF LOCAL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY IN CASE OF DISASTER

Abstract

 The construction industry in rural areas has been declined due to the labor shortage. If this tendency continues, the negative impact to the regional economy and local community may arise when the disaster which is beyond the business capability of the local industry to reconstruct occurs. However, it is not motivated to improve the capability immediately because the capability cannot be evaluated. This study aims to develop the method for evaluating the capability of the local construction industry using Gaussian mixture model and examine the usefulness of this method empirically.
