Abstract
 Because fatigue failure is often difficult to detect, advanced knowledge and experience are required for inspectors. For this reason, an educational software for close visual inspection has been developed to facilitate the education of inspectors. Since our developed educational software is Internet based, it is available to any interested user. This educational software allows users to gain familiarity with fatigue failure inspections on their personal computers by controlling an animated inspector. Additionally, slides showing causes, along with fatigue damage illustrations and photographs, are displayed when the inspector in the educational software detects fatigue failure. Users can learn about the fatigue failure in depth by viewing the displayed slide.
