Abstract
In superstructure of a prestressed concrete bridges, steel / concrete composite bridges are composed, offer lighter girder weight and provide excellent aesthetics owing to the advantages of both steel and concrete.
As a type of composite bridges, steel concrete composite truss bridges are composed of concrete top and bottom chords and steel diagonals as truss member.
Truss joints are important structural members of the composite truss bridges because steel and concrete bond to each other at the joint and forces are transmitted from the slab to truss members through the joint. Transmitting combined stress of cross section through the truss joint and facilitating the construction of the joint should be ensured.
Authors devised steel BOX type joint structure, conducted various experiments and analyses, and realized the Kinokawa Viaduct which turn into the first composite truss bridge in Japan, and Yamakuragawa Bridge.
In this paper, it classified about various junction structures devised until now, and those features were explained. Furthermore, some the experiments and analyses which were carried out in order to make the design method of the new joint structure which authors devised, and the design method were explained.
