This study proposes that a quantitative evaluation method for the capture performance of heavy rain by the rain gauges in railroad. The evaluation uses the rate which became the heavy rain more than the train operation regulation at the point of the rain gauge, when it became the heavy rain more than train operation regulation in the end of the charge section of the rain gauge. Furthermore, this study proposes that the method which extracting rain gauge with low capture performance of heavy rain, and improving the capture performance of the heavy rain by reexamining the end of the charge section of a rain gauge and extending the rain gauge.
