Abstract
In Europe and the United States the Field Operational Tests of Cooperative ITS (C-ITS: the system can realize to promote the wide range of ITS service's utilization by integrating communication of vehicle (V) to V, V to infrastructure (I) and I to I) have been conducted actively on the basis of government policy. This paper shows the result of research and comparative analysis on device, communication, service content and so on of C-ITS in Europe, the US and Japan. And we made a study on the system architecture of Japan's ITS services to be realized in the mid and long term according with socioeconomic tidal current and current technology such as advanced vehicular and communication technology. Based on this architecture we picked out C-ITS services set out to be newly provided in the mid and long term after we examined the status of deployment or R&D. And we considered the direction of next generation ITS research based on the current national policy on ITS.
