Abstract
Using a network GEV based route choice model, we propose a new extension of logit type stochastic user equilibrium (SUE) traffic assignment. The multinomial logit model structure cannot capture similarities among alternatives because of the independence of irrelevant alternatives (IIA) property and hence is not suitable to model route choice. In this paper, we propose a network GEV based SUE and this model described the route choice behavior which is consistent of random utility theory and captured the path correlation structure. And our model does not need explicit path enumeration and calculation of overlap link length unlike in the case of probit model and cross nested logit model.
