Abstract
In accordance with the Guideline for Development of Safe and Comfortable Bicycle Facilities Network established in 2012, the development of bicycle network is promoted in Japan and the roads without sidewalks will be included in the network. So in this study, we analyzed the accidents during cycling at the roads without sidewalks in Ohta Ward in Tokyo. As the result, it is revealed that 1) the more accidents occur at the narrow roads as well as the wide roads, and 2) the more accidents occur at the intersections with the facilities for safety. Moreover, after considering the bicycle traffic volume, it is revealed that 3) the less accidents occur with the people bicycling on the left side of the roads, and 4) the less accidents occur with the people bicycling in the forward direction on the one-way streets
