Abstract
Under the traffic rules, the bicycle is supposed to pass the roadway, and in principle bicycles are prohibited from passing through the sidewalks. So you may have to go around on the left side of the roadway, or you may have to walk with the bicycle on the sidewalk contrary to your intentions. The purpose of this research is to clarify the acceptable walking distance with a bicycle on sidewalk. Firstly, the analytical method applying PSM analysis used in the marketing field was developed, and secondly the analysis data was obtained by the questionnaire survey on the main road around the JR Mito station as a case study. Thirdly, as a result of analyzing the occurrence structure of the acceptable walking distance with a bicycle on sidewalk using the new method, it turned out that the distance is about 50 m.
