Abstract
The conclusive aim of this study is to improve a micro-simulation system for traffic demand by implementing a data assimilation function. A particle-filter module which can assimilate spatial statistics data into simulation results is integrated with an activity-based micro-simulation of daily travel, PCATS. The model system is applied to a wide range urban area with Person Trip Survey data (2002) for PCATS and with Mobile Spatial Statistics (2017) for particle-filter module. As a result, the correlation between observed traffic volume and predicted traffic volume is improved.
