Abstract
This study aims to obtain the characteristics of data collected by Wi-Fi packet sensor. Many previous studies have reported that the data collected by Wi-Fi packet sensor is influenced by the height of the sensor, indoors or outdoors, and the density of the buildings, people and cars. Especially, in this study we propose to use GPS data to identify the longitude and latitude of Wi-Fi data. Firstly we conducted flow monitoring survey in downtown Toyota city by 13 Wi-Fi packet sensors. Then we analyzed kernel density and distance by the longitude and latitude of GPS focusing on installation condition. As a result, we find that height of sensor, outdoor and width of road is affected to collect mass data. And we suggested useful findings for survey planning method.
