Abstract

Conducting local public transportation scheme in rural area, it is important to grasp the needs for going outdoors in accordance with regional specific. In particular, there is a fairly difference between living environment in snowy cold region summer and winter. Therefore, it is important to make a suitable response along needs for going outdoors with each feature in summer and winter in a village in a snowy cold region. This study clarified how the difference between living environment in summer and winter affect the needs for going outdoors and the transportation in a village in a snowy cold region. As a result, it is suggested that the frequency of going outdoors in winter is reduced by snowfall compared with that in summer. And then it is suggested that people who are disinclined to drive in winter forced to drive in rural area. It is also cleared that there are some problems about using local public transportation in winter.
