Currently, on-street parking is considered a problem because of its negative impact on the smoothness of traffic. In the future, on-street parking is expected to further increase due to the spread of e-commerce, ride-sharing, and autonomous vehicles. Therefore, flexible curbside utilization methods are required to accommodate a variety of uses in a limited space. The purpose of this study is to examine the future vision of curbside and to propose a planning and evaluation procedure for curbside to cope with a society in which autonomous vehicles, etc. have become widespread. As a result of the analysis, it was quantitatively clarified from the case study that the smoothness of traffic and the effective use of space can be improved by restricting parking. On the other hand, it was shown that in order to maintain smoothness, parking demand cannot be addressed in some locations, and off-street facilities are necessary.
