Abstract

The Parking Development Plan is a statutory plan based on Article 4 of the Parking Act, and is an important plan that sets the basic policy and target amount of parking development for each municipality. In order to set the target amount of development, it is assumed that it will be necessary to forecast future parking demand, but there is no formalized method for this. In addition, in light of the recent increase in parking supply, mainly due to the increase in the number of mandatory parking spaces, it can be pointed out that future demand forecasts may not be necessary. The purpose of this study is to categorize these methods by collecting parking facility development plans published on the Internet and investigating their descriptions of future parking demand forecasts, and to organize issues related to future parking demand forecasting methods.
