As part of efforts to address the "2050 Carbon Neutral Declaration" and promote the effective utilization of asphalt resources, one initiative in the field of road pavement is the further promotion of recycled hot asphalt mixtures. While asphalt recycling has maintained high levels of performance in the past, recent years have seen instances of multiple recycling events, raising concerns about a decline in asphalt quality. In view of sustainability efforts in the road sector and the need to mitigate the deterioration of asphalt quality, the authors have developed an emulsion for rejuvenating deteriorated asphalt simply by spraying it onto existing pavement surfaces. Through various investigations, the rejuvenation effects of asphalt mixtures that have undergone long-term outdoor exposure were demonstrated.
