Abstract
By the utilization of NSR (Northern Sea Route), more efficient logistics service might be provided because the route will shorten sea transport distance between Europe and Asia by 40%.
Regarding container transport, an intermediate service between the current sea transport via Suez and air transport will be possible. In this paper firstly, service levels of such service are examined by the actual vessel sailing record and other cost estimation. Then future use and benefits of container transport via NSR are examined from shippers' point of view, focusing on the effects brought by the shorter transit times.
