Abstract
The pavement technologies that can decrease tire-pavement rolling resistance are thought as the new pavement technology for the future low carbon society because it can decrease CO2 emissions from the vehicle. The authors have been studying for the development of low rolling resistance pavement and the clarification of the mechanism of rolling resistance. However, the relationship between rolling resistance and pavement surface properties are complicated and the evaluation methods for rolling resistance have many points to be clarified. This paper reports that the tire-pavement surface contact pressure and power spectral density were focused on and examined the application as the evaluation method for the rolling resistance of pavement surface. As the results, it was revealed that the contact pressure distribution between tire and pavement surface were totally different depending on the pavement surface texture, and it have possibility to evaluate the negative texture of pavement surface.
