This study aims to develop the new switching device of railway rails from the point of view of laborsaving for the maintenance of turnouts. First, the authors design and produce the switching device installed in a bearer which can control and monitor the displacements and switching forces of switch rails by the electric and hydraulic actuator. Secondly, we install the device at the test track and conform the 10,000 or more times of switching motion of rails with the monitoring of the rail displacement and the switching forces. Finally, we improve the water resistance of the device and test its resistance. As a result, the water resistance is verified under the watering condition that the amount of rainfall every hour is 100 mm and the test time is 2 hours.
