Abstract
Transportation services between the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Tohoku area decreased greatly due to the Tohoku Shinkansen service due to the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred at March 2011, but mobility was able to be secured as aviation and express buses increased. In this way, it is important to ensure the substitution of traffic modes so that the functions of the transport network are not lost due to the earthquake. In this study, the influence on the railway user when the Tokaido Shinkansen was interrupted due to the occurrence of the Nankai Trough Earthquake in the future was analyzed and consciousness survey was conducted for users of the Tokaido Shinkansen to grasp the behavior when the Shinkansen was suspended for a long time due to the earthquake disaster. As a result, at the time of the earthquake disaster, it was found that nearly half of the people visited the affected areas for confirmation of safety of employees, supply of goods, visitation of business partners and business support by using aviation.
