Abstract
In the Kumamoto earthquake, several medical institutions were damaged, they became difficult to continue medical treatment, and they were necessary to transfer the inpatient to another medical institutions. We conducted interview surveys of the staff of the affected medical institution and clarified the current status and problems of business continuity at medical institutions in Kumamoto prefecture. In business continuity plan of a medical institution, it is necessary to consider hardware measures, software measures, skill measures, business continuity strategies and support systems. Regional alliances are required to push forward these measures.
