The dynamic mechanical properties of various carbon fiber reinforced plastics were investigated experimentally. The composites consist of standard epoxy resin DX-210 and denatured epoxy resin #3130, #241, #3501 and the reinforcement of high tension type of carbon fiber, GRAFIL AS made by the Mitsubishi Rayon Co., CARBOLON Z-3 by the Nippon Carbon Co., and TORAYCA T-300 by the Toray Co., the experiment was carried out at room temperature. It was found that the static bending strength as well as flexural fatigue strength of the carbon fiber composites depends mainly on the properties of epoxy resin matrix. The ratio of 107 cycles flexural fatigue strength to the static flexural strength was 0.44∼0.55 and flexural fatigue strength was not changed after the test piece was soaked in water for 3 weeks.
