Surfactants that contain both hydrophobic groups and hydrophilic groups in chemical structures play unique performances in various industrial fields. It is well known that surfactants show an important role in improving the performances of pesticide formulations and in mediating their environmental effects. In this review, I give an overview of surfactants in plant protection not only as additives of pesticide formulations but also as tank-mix adjuvants, insecticides, fungicides etc.
