Okinawa has the unique history and rich culture in Japan. On the other hand, the reduction of the US bases does not advance, and the Japanese Government is opposed to Okinawa prefecture over transference to Henoko of the Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, and influence of the battle of Okinawa and the United States' occupation stays as big society issue. A look based on accurate knowledge to the modern history which Okinawa just walked to us is found. Archives should play a big role. I make it the digital archive of "Government of the Ryukyu Islands documents" which ticked away the history of the self-government under the theme of archives of Okinawa by this special feature and report an exhibition and the utilization of the films which arrested Okinawa under the war and the occupation and the action that it is said to bring about new "archive community" with the films and the photographs which the media and an individual possess.
