The "Digital Archive Charter" defines a digital archive as a system for preserving, sharing, and utilizing people's information assets through digital media. In this paper, we explore platforms suitable for digital archives that can appropriately handle information assets. As examples, we examine Getty Images, a pioneer platform that first introduced online photo licensing, and Wikipedia, a free multilingual internet encyclopedia that allows anyone to participate in editing, to concretize the image of a digital archive platform.
