Abstract
We were investigated the case histories in the rehabilitation of the existing embankment dams for improved the safety or prevented the leakage of embankment, and raising the existing embankment dams for increased the storage. This paper presents a general considerations of the factors to be considered in designing and constructing for the rehabilitation of the existing embankment dams. The zoning of the embankment in rehabilitation of old filldam is depend on the stability and permeability of the existing dam embankment, the strength and permeability characteristics of embankment soil, the capacity and seepage characteristics of bedrock foundation, the conditions in the configuration of the location of the dam, and so on.
