Abstract

Kanazawa Institute of Technology applies PBL to the backbone of its curriculum, and names it Project Design Program to grow up students into independently minded and actively engaged engineers. Through the Project Design courses for freshmen and sophomores, students construct teams and conduct the experiments to verify the hypotheses and ideas. However, it is difficult for most students to recognize many risk factors which may occur during experiments. In particular, freshmen immediately after enrollment are completely indifferent to risk factors. Therefore we have introduced “Kiken Yochi Training” into the Project Design course for freshmen to ensure safety of students.
