In this study, we conducted programming training sessions using Scratch in introductory programming classes for first-year students at information technology college and for new employees, and aimed to provide a text-based programming language skill based on their understanding of programming in Scratch. As a result, we found that students who were able to create contents using more than 1,000 blocks in Scratch showed higher proficiency in the text-based programming language. And, in the training for new employees, it was found that the teaching method using Scratch was particularly effective for new employees without computer-science background who had no programming experience.
