The possibility of using tablet devices is increasing as ICT (Information and Communication Technology) equipment. Tablet devices can also enhance a learning effect on students. For this reason, we introduced an experiment named “Measurement of Light Spectrum” in “Experiments in Physics” at Kagoshima KOSEN. The new experiment requires tablet devices and enables the students to understand the light spectrum. They operate a spectrophotometer with tablet devices and measure light spectrum of various light sources. They find characteristics of the light spectrums while viewing and operating tablet devices. Our follow-up survey after the experiment showed that most of the students were satisfied with the experiment. We also confirmed that it can increase the level of students’ understanding of the light spectrum.
